Union Bank of India organized the General Knowledge quiz program ‘U Genius 300’ for students of classes 8 to 12 in the auditorium of Uttaranchal University, as part of a nationwide initiative spanning 48 cities.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Lt. General Gurmit Singh (Retd.), Governor of Uttarakhand, alongside other prominent dignitaries such as Gaukh Kumar, Municipal Commissioner of Dehradun, Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi, a noted environmentalist, Manish Agarwal, Regional Head of CBSE, Dehradun, Ankita Joshi, Vice President of Uttaranchal University, and Dr. Amit Bhatt, Director of Uttaranchal Hospital & Diagnostic Centre.
The program began with an inspiring speech by the Regional Head of Union Bank of India, Dehradun. A total of 1300 students from Rishikesh, Dehradun, Mussoorie, Roorkee, Vikasnagar, and Haridwar participated, showcasing their knowledge and enthusiasm.
A key highlight of the event was the participation of St. George’s Academy Society (SGAS), a renowned NGO school dedicated to educating and empowering underprivileged students. SGAS students stood out for their remarkable performance and were highly praised for their intellectual prowess, further cementing the school’s reputation as a key contender in such prestigious events. The winner of the quiz program was Oak Grove School, Mussoorie, while Montford School, Roorkee, claimed the runners-up spot. The winning team will advance to the regional level in Banaras.
St. George’s Academy Society’s participation added a significant presence to the event, exemplifying the impact of skill and knowledge nurtured within the NGO, making them a standout participant in this prestigious competition.
