Project Hunar is a transformative initiative by St. George’s Academy Society aimed at empowering the Jaunsari community (Scheduled Tribe) through skill-based education in Fashion Designing and Beauty Culture. By reaching 110 villages in the Chakrata region, this project fosters economic independence, uplifts marginalized communities, and preserves traditional craftsmanship. Through tailored training programs, we equip individuals—especially women—with industry-relevant skills, enabling them to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to their society. St. George’s Academy Society is proud to empower the Jaunsari community (Scheduled Tribe) through specialized training in Fashion Designing and Beauty Culture. Currently, we are providing skill development opportunities across 110 villages in the Chakrata region, fostering self-reliance and economic growth.
The Jaunsari community in Chakrata faces significant socio-economic challenges, including limited access to education, employment opportunities, and financial independence. Uplifting this community through skill-based training is essential to breaking the cycle of poverty, preserving their rich cultural heritage, and equipping individuals—especially women—with the tools to build sustainable livelihoods. By nurturing their talents and providing market-driven skills, we aim to create pathways for economic inclusion and a brighter future.
