Following an intensive on-ground community needs assessment across multiple urban and peri-urban clusters in Lucknow, St. George’s Academy Society (SGAS) is proud to launch its newest Skill Development Training Centre in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.
Conducted in March–April 2025, the survey covered over 650 households and 23 local communities across Alambagh, Gomti Nagar Extension, Rajajipuram, and surrounding areas. The findings highlighted three urgent and overlapping needs:
Unemployed youth lacking access to structured vocational training
Urban women seeking flexible, home-based income opportunities
A strong local demand for job-ready skills in retail, apparel, beauty, and IT
In direct response to this data, SGAS is now offering free, certified training programs under the Skill India Mission, in affiliation with NSDC and UKSDM, specifically tailored to urban aspirations and employability.
Courses Offered in Lucknow:
Apparel Designing & Boutique Stitching
Advanced Beauty & Wellness (Salon-Level Training)
Retail Sales Associate & Customer Handling
Digital Literacy & Office Computer Skills
Embroidery, Value Addition & Hand Finishing
Each course is mapped to NSQF standards and is taught by SSC-certified trainers with real-world experience. Beyond technical skills, SGAS emphasizes communication, grooming, digital familiarity, and job readiness—a holistic model proven to improve placement outcomes.
Key Highlights from the Lucknow Survey Report:
72% of youth surveyed had never enrolled in any formal training program
64% of women respondents expressed interest in home-based tailoring or salon work
81% preferred short-term, certification-linked programs (2–3 months)
Several employers expressed willingness to hire trained candidates directly from SGAS batches
This initiative is not just a training program—it’s a data-driven response to real community needs, designed to improve livelihoods and promote urban inclusion.
SGAS is deeply committed to ensuring that every course offered in Lucknow is grounded in local relevance, quality instruction, and long-term sustainability. The work has already begun—and the change is visible.
